The investment objective of the Company is to achieve capital growth by investing in a portfolio of Central Asian securities. The Company will invest primarily in large and medium sized companies operating in the Central Asian states, with the aim of being an active and influential minority shareholder. The Company aims to select its portfolio companies based on a fundamental value approach, taking into account the underlying potential for restructuring gains and growth. The Company will seek direct and indirect exposure to the Central Asian states, through investments in listed and unlisted companies whose shares are expected to benefit from the growth in domestic spending and investment, as well as growth in production in the natural resource sectors. The Company also aims to benefit from consolidation within the sectors it invests in, as the region's economies develop and as fundamental strengths of individual companies lead to the emergence of local market leaders. The Fund's actual date of inception is April 30, 2008.
