GaveKal Asian Opportunities

Fund Investment Objectives

The GaveKal Asian Opportunities UCITS Fund (GAOUF) is a long-only, diversified UCITS IV compliant Fund, investing in the equities, bonds and currencies of the greater Asia-Pacific region (incl. Japan, Australia and India). The investment objective of the GAOUF is to capture the long term returns of Asian equity markets while constraining volatility through the tactical use of Asian bonds and cash. The Fund seeks to outperform the Asia MSCI index with a lower volatility while remaining benchmark agnostic. The GAOUF is a Growth equity Fund with a disciplined asset allocation overlay based on individual country research. The investment team identifies top down macro themes as a precursor to building an equity portfolio through the identification of securities that are substantially mis-priced through growth earnings and price momentum. Idea generation is initiated by the fund managers and analysts using proprietary screening tools, top-down expertise, bottom-up assessments as well as input received from corporates, industry contacts, governments and sell-side contacts. The Fund also uses cash and bonds to tactically reduce volatility. The portfolio combines high conviction with broad diversification within a controlled risk framework. AUM reflects the aggregate of the various share classes and is denominated in EUR.
