The Ginga Service Sector Fund is a Japanese equity long / short fund focusing on IT and Service sectors. The strengths of the fund include the fund manager's 7 years analyst experience covering non-manufacturing industries and 9 years experience managing $1.5 billion investment trust at Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management.
Investment decisions are based on intensive bottom-up research. The team covers approx. 800 stocks.
The team analyzes each company's business model and potential earnings growth and also looks at managerial skills, company earnings releases and/or short term earnings momentum.
By focusing and continuing research activities to specific industries and specific companies, the team expects to identify investment opportunities by capturing short/medium/long term changes in such company or sub-sector. Portfolio construction is unique in order to obtain non-correlated returns against the overall market or sector or size. AUM is the aggregate of the various share classes and is denominated in JPY.
